Garden Club Program features native plants for home landscapes

At the October 13 meeting of Mountain Shadow Garden Club, Rick Barnes of NatureScapes will present a program on native plants, particularly trees, shrubs, and perennials in the context of home landscape communities.

Mr. Barnes is a certified arborist and has worked extensively with the Georgia Perimeter College Horticulture Program and gardens. A graduate in horticulture from the University of Georgia, he has been a leader in the Georgia Green Industry and is noted for his photography of landscapes and natural settings. 

Mountain Shadow Garden Club meets at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 5801 Hugh Howell Road, Stone Mountain. Meetings begin at 7:30 pm and are open to men and women of all ages. Refreshments and socializing follow.
