Snellville welcomes fall with festival

SNELLVILLE – A fall tradition will continue Oct. 25 as the city hosts its Fall Festival. The event will take place from 12 to 7 p.m. on the Towne Green in front of City Hall, 2432 Oak Road.

Snellville hosts Fall Festival

There will be a scarecrow contest, a cake and pie cooking contest, arts and crafts and vendors.

“We’re looking for people to bring their cake and pie creations to the festival where they will be judged by some of Snellville’s professional chefs,” said Snellville Tourism and Trade Director Kelly McAloon. “The winners get prizes and the rest of us get to sample their creations.”

There will also be a Halloween costume contest which, this year, includes more age categories and even an added a category for dogs.

Scarecrows will be available through a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the Southeast Gwinnett Food Co-op. Be sure to drive around Snellville and look at all the creative scarecrows and vote for your favorite one. Voting forms are available scarecrow locations, McAloon said.

“Come out to bid on some wonderful scarecrows in our silent auction to benefit the Southeast Co-Op,” she said. “With the help of Give Hunger the Boot, we are trying to fill up a truckload of food to take to the Co-Op as well.”

Sponsors for the event are:
