I still get irritable when I recall one long forgotten Coach at a local school who left his athletes stranded while he went out for fast food. I have made myself forget the Coach, the School and the Sport but I do remember he came back with Burger King wrappers.
Our favorite Coaches are ones who understand the particularly glory of every single season and sport milestone. On a higher level is Coach Todd Wofford, Varsity football Coach at Cental Gwinnett High School who is excited about this 2015 Senior picture done by photographer David Schroder.
David Schroder was also present when ESPN covered the Archer High School vs. Peachtree Ridge High School game for national television. Shown is Archer Wide Receiver Kyle Davis, who is a 5 star recruit with offers from over 25 colleges. He is seen here catching an amazing pass in a standout performance on ESPNU vs. Peachtree Ridge. The audience for the game was held at Archer High School and featured outstanding Coaches – Andy Dyer from AHS and Fleetwood from PRHS - attracted a “packed house”. David noted that cars filled both parking lots and overflowed onto the street in front of Archer. TV time meant breaks for commercials and blaring studio lights. One of the Archer Seniors players said “Who’d have thought we’d be playing on ESPN in high school.”
Meanwhile, the Dacula High School softball seniors - Alexis Deadwyler, Baylee Bedingfield, Deja Spring and Sabrina Sieber have their eyes on the ball for photographer Meredith Chastain.
Peachtree Ridge Band Director Andy Edwards does his proper Marching Band picture and then allows each section to line up in rows OR NOT. The 4 young men who comprise “Low Reeds” planned out this “marching in place” tableau.
My spare time as a young adult was spent around a barn so when we offered Loganville Christian Seniors a chance to do some photographs at my favorite barn “For All Seasons” in Loganville, I knew I would be back among horses, dogs, fences and tractors. LCA Senior Eric Wiley, son of Shannon and John Wiley, grew up an only child with the full collection of John Deere and Tonka metal tractors. Although Eric gave up tractors for soccer, marching band and running (he now holds the record at LCA for the fastest time in a 5K), he looked very genuine posing alongside the resident barn tractor.
Mountain Park Elementary School is celebrating 50 years of outstanding education this year. Since the official celebration date has not yet been determined, the joyful mood is in place every day “in case”. Here Dr. Gee is surrounded by dressed up staff celebrants, plainclothes staff celebrants and the usual pod of incredulous bystanders. Icing on the cake is the 600 students at MPES who hopefully will be invited when the cake actually arrives.
