Gwinnett Medical Group Adds Neurosurgical Expert

Lawrenceville, Ga. (January 23, 2014) –Gwinnett Medical Group (GMG) recently announced neurosurgeon Matthew M. Kimball, MD, has joined The Brain & Spine Institute. Some of Kimball’s areas of expertise include tumors of the brain (including skull-based), traumatic brain injury, degenerative disease of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, and corrective surgery based on previous procedures.
“Dr. Kimball’s energy and passion is complementary to the existing team of highly-experienced neurosurgeons, Dr. Michael Stechison and Dr. Michael Amaral of The Brain & Spine Institute,” said Phil Wolfe, president and CEO, Gwinnett Medical Center. “The continued strengthening of this practice reinforces our commitment to medical treatment in the north metro area.”
Before becoming a physician, Dr. Kimball worked as an emergency medical technician including service at the Olympic Winter Games in Utah in 2002. In recent years he has volunteered as a teacher and served on three international medical expeditions.
