Never too late

DISCLAIMER: I generally do not talk about myself, especially to people I do not know. It is my job to get my clients to open up and talk about themselves and their goals. It is a little scary being on the other end. But here I go…

A little about me. I have always been attracted to fitness. Addicted is the better word. The draw for me, I believe, is accomplishment. The feeling of achieving something for yourself. Women can find themselves “doing” for everyone else in their lives. You have to carve a little space out for you. My fitness is for me and no one else. I control it, plan it, execute it. It is part of me like breathing. I need it.  This year, I celebrate 20 years in business, 25 years in the fitness industry and several other wonderful milestones. There has been the occasional bump in the road. Such is this life. Luckily, I am still here and attribute this to a clear passion for fitness, but also a willingness to learn and try new things.

I took up golf at 42, running at 45, mountain biking at 49 and painting classes at 50. I haven’t put any of them down, either. I run longer, stronger and faster than I did at 45 and now I have the joy of mountain biking with my grandkids as they grow up. I am blessed to have found multiple passions in my life, because I went looking for them.

What is your passion? What do you WANT to do? GO! Do it now! Ignore the critics, specifically the one between your own ears. Give yourself permission to do something for YOU. The want might turn into a need. It is never to late to try something new. Never.
