Gwinnett's fierceness

A cousin of ours who is distinguished by a doctorate from Yale and her choice to raise her son and daughter in Washington State, recently shared some information on the new acceptance of a “Fierce” mode for little girls.
Not every child needs to play sports and take ownership of their tougher side but for those of us who grew up as sugar and spice, it is nice to see uber-Coach (and Grayson High School Athletic Director) Brian DuBerry’s GAA Team with such players as Anna DuBerry, Ansley Tisdale, Grace Kendrick and Lindsay Parrish strike fear in the hearts of their opponents with this Total Focus pose.
Further examples of fierceness is the picture of the Central Gwinnett High Senior Soccer Boys. This image was taken on February 18 on what I like to call the “coldest day in history” ( if you don’t count locations north of Georgia.) Temperatures bottomed out to 22 degrees. The toughness of the photographer who took this picture is me. The toughness of the CGHS team is evidenced by this group of young men in SHORTS. The Central Gwinnett Soccer Varsity teams—both boys, (Head Coach Bryan Allen)and girls, (Head Coach, Mike Yocca) – are in the midst of an outstanding season.
Heather Childs, Assistant Principal at Lanier High School, is leaving to take another Gwinnett County Leadership role. Heather is a valued member of the Administrative Team and her send - off was highlighted by a Group Administrative Picture with all participants displaying the secretive Longhorn sign. On Ms. Childs’ left is Principal Dr. Reuben Gresham.
Alexis Walls is an Archer High School Senior who completed four years in their outstanding Competition Cheerleading program. She comes from a pet loving family and the family has adopted a dog they found trapped in a sewer. When Alexis came to our studio to pose for an image for her Graduation banner, she borrowed our latest family member, Rosie the St. Bernard. Alexis and her Mother enjoy dressing up their own three little rescue dogs with bows and outfits.
I will always remember of hearing of Will Searcy when he was a student at Dacula High School. In a school that has turned out many leaders over many years, Will stood out with intelligence, kindness and drive. I am always thrilled to photograph any event for the Gwinnett Senior Leadership team and it was a bonus that the 2015 GSLT graduation featured Will Searcy, now a Yale University student leader, as a speaker and a recipient of the prestigious Barbara King Leadership Award .
