Reid Mullins Scholarship recipient for 2014

The Reid Mullins Scholarship Committee is proud to announce the recipient for 2014 is Kimarah Laurent.  She is a graduate of South Gwinnett High School in Snellville.  Kimarah plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall pursing a degree in International Affairs. 

 

She is the daughter of Christi and Kevin Laurent.  Miss Laurent graduated with a 4.0 grade point average and is Valedictorian for her graduating class.

As a Cadet Lieutenant Colonel, Kimarah served as the South Gwinnett High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Battalion Commander during her senior year.  She participates and leads the JROTC Color Guard, Drill Team and Female Raider Teams.  Among her other accomplishments, Kimarah was a member of the SGHS Marching Band Saxophone section, a member of the Gwinnett Student Leadership Team and a member of the the National Society of High School Scholars.


Kimarah is an active member of Hope and Life Fellowship Church where she sings in the Voices of Life choir, volunteers as a crew leader during Vacation Bible School and serves as an assistant coach of the church basketball team.  She is a member of the Teyat Pawol Theater Group which performs worldwide.
