(2013) Congratulations to our 1st and 2nd Place High School Science Olympiad teams who are advancing to the National Science Olympiad Competition May 17-18 at Wright State University in Dayton Ohio! •1st place went to Brookwood High School (BHS),

•2nd place went to Gwinnett School of Math, Science and Technology (GSMST).

The students from BHS and GMSMST were recognized on April 18th by the Gwinnett County Board of Education at the monthly board meeting for their achievements at the state championship.

This win marks the 5th state championship for Brookwood HS in the last 6 years. The team set a school record for 5 gold medals and by placing in the top 5 in 18 of the 23 events this year.

On February 2nd the team competed at the Regional level at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega. Following that win, the team then competed on March 16 at Southern Polytechnic in Marietta.

The team will leave to compete at Nationals on Thursday, May 16 and they welcome the support of the community.
