Lanier Islands Issues Special Salute to Troops and Law Enforcement
Award-Winning Georgia Resort to Honor Free LanierWorld Admission for the 2015 Summer Season for Active Duty Military Personnel and Police Officers Beginning July 1

BUFORD, Ga. – While plans are well underway at Lanier Islands to throw a four-day Independence Day celebration of epic proportions, the family at the helm of the award-winning Georgia resort has very special plans of its own.

Inspired by the patriotism that the Fourth of July represents, the Williams Family announced today that it will extend free admission to LanierWorld – a lakeside beach, boardwalk and waterpark entertainment district located inside the resort – to active duty military personnel and law enforcement officers* for the remainder of the 2015 summer season.

“My family and I have a significant appreciation of our American heritage and the men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to protect our freedom and our personal safety,” explained Lanier Islands’ Chairman of the Board, Virgil Williams. “We are fortunate as a family to be able to express our thanks to these heroes. Our ownership of this beautiful beach and lake resort gives us the chance to give back to those who give so much to our communities and to the nation. In a show of respect and gratitude for active duty military personnel and law enforcement officers, we invite them to leave the stresses of their job behind for a few hours to enjoy the very best that we have to give them… a beautiful view of the lake with complimentary access to our beach and water attractions. This free ‘season pass’ is our way of saying ‘Thank You,’ and demonstrating our support of the difficult work that they do to keep us all safe.”

Beginning on July 1 through the remainder of LanierWorld’s regular 2015 summer season – which is set to end on Sunday, September 13 – active duty military personnel and members of the police force may enjoy free admission to LanierWorld by showing their military or law enforcement identification at the entrance gate to LanierWorld. This special invitation comprises law enforcement officers and all five branches of the Armed Forces, including Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard, as well as Army Reserves and National Guard. LanierWorld features a half-mile stretch of white sandy beaches, more than a dozen attractions – including the NEW CAT4 slide and Thunderbolt triple-zipline over the lake, a number of lakefront eateries, live entertainment and so much more – all within 45 miles of Downtown Atlanta.
