Civil War author Stephen Davis to speak
at Gwinnett Historical Society

Concurrent with the 150th year anniversary of General Sherman’s bombardment of Atlanta during the Civil War, The Gwinnett Historical Society is pleased to announce that Civil War author Stephen Davis will speak at the Society’s May 19th meeting at the old Historical Courthouse in downtown Lawrenceville.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m and is free to the public. After a brief business meeting, Mr. Davis will discuss his book, What the Yankees Did to Us: Sherman’s Bombardment and Wrecking of Atlanta, published in December 2013. Mr. Davis is also Director of Medical Relations for MagMutual Insurance Company in Atlanta. In addition to authoring several hundred articles about the Civil War, Davis has also written the book Atlanta Will Fall: Sherman, Joe Johnston and the Yankee Heavy Battalions. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the meeting.
