The SE Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry announces a new location in anticipation of taking the next step toward serving the community through the ministry of food and financial assistance to those in need. The project entitled “Finally Home” includes the purchase of a property located at 55 Grayson Industrial Parkway in Grayson.
The new property includes approximately 2 acres and a building suitable for the needs of the community that includes service, education and storage of food bank donations.
Money has been saved over the last 5 years towards the purchase of a permanent home for the co-op which has been graciously housed in temporary buildings on the campus of Community of Grace Church on Athens Highway for the past 7 years. The co-op anticipates that an additional $300-$350K will be needed in order to achieve the goal of moving into the new building debt free.
The co-op has begun a fundraising campaign with plans to raise $350,000 by December 31, 2013. “Being debt free will bring many blessings as we can keep operational expenses lower and provide more help, ministry and assistance to those we serve,” says Executive Director, Laura Drake. “Prayers will be coveted during this time.”
