Community Foundation awards $125,000 in Challenge Grants

DULUTH, GA (March 12, 2014) - The Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia (CFNEG) is pleased to announce the award of $125,000 in Challenge Grants to four non-profit organizations in our community - Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett, The IMPACT! Group, Norcross Cooperative Ministry and Creative Enterprises, Inc.

City of Duluth Honors Top Officers With Help From the Community

Duluth, Georgia (March 12, 2014) – The Duluth Police Department held its annual Awards Luncheon to honor the top officers for 2013. Also present were local business owners and community leaders that have joined together to help continue this banquet since it was cut from the City budget several years ago as a cost saving measure.

SNELLVILLE (March 12, 2014) - A group of volunteers were lauded for their dedication to the city at the Snellville Tourism and Trade Marcy Pharris Volunteer of the Year award dinner Saturday.

Britt ES selected for International Reading Association’s Exemplary Reading Program Award

SNELLVILLE (March 11, 2014) - A Gwinnett County learning community where volunteers join teachers to help students sharpen their reading skills recently impressed members of the Georgia Reading Association (GRA). On a recent visit to Britt Elementary in the South Gwinnett Cluster, GRA members ended their day selecting the school as the recipient of the 2014 International Reading Association Exemplary Reading Program Award.
