Lilburn (March 11, 2014) – When the American Craft Council (ACC) returns to Atlanta for its 25th Silver Anniversary Show at the Cobb Galleria Centre, Lilburn master glass artist Hung Nguyen will be there for the first time with 240 other superior craft artisans.

SNELLVILLE (March 11, 2014) - A Gwinnett County learning community where volunteers join teachers to help students sharpen their reading skills recently impressed members of the Georgia Reading Association (GRA). On a recent visit to Britt Elementary in the South Gwinnett Cluster, GRA members ended their day selecting the school as the recipient of the 2014 International Reading Association Exemplary Reading Program Award.

Mayberry Receives Certificate of Achievement

ATLANTA (March 12, 2014) - Braselton Councilmember Richard Mayberry received the prestigious Certificate of Achievement from the Georgia Municipal Training Institute at the Georgia Municipal Association's (GMA) Annual Mayors' Day Conference in Atlanta on January 26.

Cops and Robbers run set for April 19, 2014

SNELLVILLE (February 27, 2014) – A Cops and Robbers 5 and 10K run will take place April 19 to benefit the Snellville Citizens Police Academy and the Snellville Rotary Club. Pre-registration for the event ends April 12, 2014. The run will follow a beautiful course through Briscoe Park and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Casino Night to benefit Community Garden

SNELLVILLE (February 27, 2014) – A Casino Night to benefit the city’s Snellville community garden will take place beginning with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. March 15 at the Summit Chase Country Club.

The event is open to the public and is presented by the Gwinnett Sunrise Rotary Club, the Snellville Tourism and Trade Association and the Greater Eastside Chamber of Commerce.

The Lilburn Community Garden is expanding and adding 25 new plot rentals which will be available for the 2014 growing season. We invite gardeners of all ages and skill levels to join in the fun and apply to the garden.

The Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry serves people in need in the Lawrenceville and Dacula areas. "Donations are down, while at the same time, we're seeing a rise in homelessness," says director Linda Freund. "This donation will help people in need with things like prescription medicine, water bills and places to stay for homeless families." Walton EMC Pumps $100,000 Into Local Charities
