Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to present class on Autism Awareness Sunday, September 28

Like many parents, Jessica Black was devastated when her daughter was first diagnosed with autism. “I was worried about how she would find her place in the world.” Although she was able to get help and support from the medical and even the school community, Ms. Black found it was often awkward and difficult to find that same support in the place she was accustomed to finding it the most, her church community.

The Mr & Ms Special Gwinnett County Pageant was established in 2012 by Jennifer Hite as her Girl Scout Gold Award project.  The pageant serves teens ages 13-19 and adults ages 20+ with disabilities.  Jennifer’s vision was to give Gwinnett County an event to showcase the special needs population and bring attention to these remarkable individuals.

The Mountain Shadow Garden Club (MSGC) is pleased to announce its "2014 Georgia Pecans for the Holidays Sale" our annual fall fund raising event. The newly harvested pecans from our supplier in south Georgia are scheduled to arrive no later than Nov. 15th.
