About 11,000 students began classes on August 18, 2014 at Georgia Gwinnett College, setting a new enrollment record as the college continues its pattern of dramatic growth. 

Snellville police to take on ‘ALS Ice Bucket Challenge’

Snellville Police Department officers will take part in the “Ice Bucket Challenge,” the social media sensation that raises money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

GGC invited all new students to visit campus so they could learn their way around, locate their classrooms, purchase books and complete other tasks needed to start the 2014 fall semester.

Three Gwinnett schools honored for sportsmanship

Three Gwinnett County high schools—Meadowcreek High, Berkmar High, and Lanier High— earned recognition for demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship during the 2013-14 school year. The schools were among 48 earning the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award.
