Casino Night to benefit Community Garden

SNELLVILLE (February 27, 2014) – A Casino Night to benefit the city’s Snellville community garden will take place beginning with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. March 15 at the Summit Chase Country Club.

The event is open to the public and is presented by the Gwinnett Sunrise Rotary Club, the Snellville Tourism and Trade Association and the Greater Eastside Chamber of Commerce.

The Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry serves people in need in the Lawrenceville and Dacula areas. "Donations are down, while at the same time, we're seeing a rise in homelessness," says director Linda Freund. "This donation will help people in need with things like prescription medicine, water bills and places to stay for homeless families." Check out their website at lawrencevilleco-op.org. Walton EMC Pumps $100,000 Into Local Charities

(MONROE, Ga February 21, 2014) The latest grants from Walton Electric Membership Corporation's (EMC) Operation Round Up are being put to good use all over the cooperative's 10-county Northeast Georgia service area. To be exact, $104,187.17 went to 13 worthy organizations and 13 needy families in the latest round of disbursements.
