10. Yoga:
Just google the word yoga and you will find a benefit to fit your need. Increased strength, balance, immunity, quality of sleep, brain function and flexibility are among some of these factors, as well as decreased anxiety, blood pressure, migraines, chronic low back pain, blood sugar levels, risk of heart disease and weight. And yoga fits any fitness level or may be modified for any injury. I can personally speak to the relaxed and peaceful feeling you will have when you leave.

AMB RT19. Pilates:
If you practice Pilates regularly, it will change your body. Known for creating long, strong muscles and a leaner look, Pilates improves muscle tone, balances musculature, supports beautiful posture, and teaches you to move with ease and grace. All of these things will make you look and feel very fit. It is highly effective for the abdominal region and is gentle and adaptable for every fitness level. A popular classic!!

About Mind & Body member classes, such as 180 Barre, are kept small to create an “exercise boutique” atmosphere.

8. Barre:
Remember that ballet class you took when you were 6? Who knew that could make you look great? Barre fitness classes are simply ballet-inspired workouts with a splash of Pilates, yoga and functional training. In each fun workout, you’ll use the barre and exercise equipment such as mini-balls and small hand weights to sculpt, slim and stretch your entire body. This is a very popular class!

7. Piloxing:
Piloxing is for the woman who is looking for an exciting workout that shreds calories, delivers core strength, creates lean muscles and leaves her feeling empowered. “Piloxing is a fitness program that blends the best of Pilates, boxing and dance into a high-energy interval workout that incorporates interval and barefoot training to burn maximum calories and increase stamina,” explains Viveca Jensen, creator of this fun exercise. “At the core of Piloxing is the principle that women are powerful and can boost their self-esteem by taking charge of their own health.” This is a fun, high energy class!

6. Circuit Training:
Circuit training is short bursts of resistance exercise using moderate weights and frequent repetitions followed quickly by another burst of exercise targeting a different muscle group. Because the exerciser switches between muscle groups, no rest is needed between exercises. This gets the heart rate up, which usually doesn’t happen during resistance exercise. As with all of our classes, exercises may be modified to fit your fitness level.

While talking with a new member last week she said, “My friends keep asking me where I am going and I don’t know how to answer. This is NOT a gym. It’s more like a boutique where I exercise. I LOVE IT!!!” About Mind & Body is a beautiful 1,500 square foot studio located in a quite office park behind Lowes on Highway 124. Positioned across the foyer from About Face Skin Care, About Mind & Body members enjoy professional teachers, a peaceful atmosphere, and a clean environment- thanks to the meticulous Program Manager, Linda Paul! 3. Mind classes to blow your mind!!:
The past two years have been filled with fun evening events. We have experienced wine pairings with appetizers from local independently owned restaurants, sip and paint classes, guest speakers from physicians speaking on women’s issues to nutritionalists to financial planners. We have planted terrariums and Italian herb gardens and learned special holiday décor hints from a well – known model home designer. And we many more fun ideas up our sleeve. This is not a place where you are judged if you haven’t worked out before or if you are carrying extra weight. We welcome you to get started!
