Annual Family Promise of Gwinnett County Bed Race

Lawrenceville – The 6th Annual Family Promise of Gwinnett County Bed Race is on April 18, 2015 in downtown Lawrenceville. The race encompasses three side streets of the Historic Courthouse.

We encourage news coverage on April 18th at 10am for the parade of beds, and 11am for the start of the heats as the beds race against time until we award the first place plaques for adult, youth and clergy divisions.

Brad Nitz, meteorologist from WSB-TV, will be this year’s Grand Marshall. WSB-TV will have a bed in the race as well as being one of our larger sponsors. Previous races have drawn crowds of 2-4,000 spectators. It will be an exciting morning.

2015 is our tenth year of serving children and their families as they work to regain their independence from homelessness. In these past ten years FPGC has served 192 families.

Mission Statement: The Mission of Family Promise of Gwinnett County is to mobilize communities of congregations that partner with social service agencies to end homelessness – one family at a time.
