Since first taking office in 2011, I have made it a priority to find ways to involve a wide variety of Gwinnett residents in county government. It started out with a program called Volunteer Gwinnett that had a goal of engaging residents in meaningful way to help Gwinnett County provide essential services. Now we have a robust and growing community outreach program.

We all look forward to spring weather where it’s not too hot and not too cold. It’s the perfect temperature for the kids to play outside after being cooped up in the house all winter long, and we love that we can turn off the heat and enjoy the fresh air.

Living with my grandfather on the farm meant food on the table during the 1930’s but at age 7 my father remarried and I lived with someone psychologically unprepared to be a dad; a slice of dried bologna in the icebox, alongside a case of beer, nothing else.
