2018 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures for Georgia

New Alzheimer’s Association Report Reveals Sharp Increases in Alzheimer’s Prevalence, Deaths and Costs of Care | Alzheimer’s deaths in Georgia increased by 201 percent from 2000 – 2015. 

Atlanta– For the second consecutive year, total payments to care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s or other dementias will surpass a quarter of a trillion dollars ($277 billion), which includes an increase of nearly $20 billion from last year, according to data reported in the Alzheimer’s Association 2018 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report released today.

I have always heard that bad things happen in threes.  I think the expression began with World War I and the prohibition for a third person to light a cigarette on one match. Never three on a match.  In the amount of time it takes for three people to light their cigarettes, the enemy can find and focus on you and, “Boom,” you’re dead.

Commissioners Approve Legacy Project to Commemorate Bicentennial, Celebrate Future

Lawrenceville – Gwinnett County will demolish its old Fire Station 15 at 275 South Perry Street in Lawrenceville and build a Bicentennial Plaza in its place. The project will also upgrade an existing walkway and trail along Constitution Boulevard to create the Bicentennial Trail, which will connect the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, the Bicentennial Plaza and the Lawrenceville Lawn.
