In the middle of a Georgia summer, the days are long and it seems like we’ve got more time for the things we enjoy. The kids are out of school, and work slows down a little. If we’re lucky, we get some extra time with our family, spend lazy days at the pool, and vacation with children and grandchildren. It can feel like summer will last forever.

Each year, we celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day on the fourth Saturday of September. This year, on Sept. 22, everyone can enjoy any of the FREE scheduled celebratory events, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division.
The Haynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Association held its 13th Annual Memorial Service this past April 29th. The theme of this years’ service was to honor the memory of the veterans known to be buried at Haynes Creek.
