Green Financial Charity Golf Classic — A Legacy of Giving

Giving. Everyone likes to be on the receiving end of it, but it takes a special kind of person to continually be the giver in such a relationship. Green Financial Resources LLC (GFR) has hosted seventeen golf events, with 15 of them designated as tournaments to raise money for charity. These have been opportunities for their clients, friends, and community members to come out, have some fun and donate to local nonprofit organizations they have designated as the beneficiaries of each event.

Gwinnett Dermatology Partners — new name, same practice

“With this growth outside of Gwinnett County and its immediately surrounding communities, our name is changing to Georgia Dermatology Partners.”

Gwinnett Dermatology, PC is exceptionally proud of the continued growth in our practice. Last year, we celebrated our 40-year milestone providing dermatology services to the communities of Snellville, Braselton, and Loganville!

Lights of Gwinnett – Rubeye Neal

Anyone who knows Ms Rubye Neal knows there is to be no standing still when she’s around because she will immediately recruit you to help with whatever mission she is going after at the time!  That was how I came to know her as someone who doesn’t let grass grow under her feet. She is always at work on some community project to educate others on the richness of our collective heritage.

A 2020 New Year’s Resolution That Doesn’t Involve Working Out or Dieting

It’s that time of year again. Yes, it is New Year’s resolution time. Was making a will one of your unfulfilled resolutions from past years?  Is it on your “to-do” list for 2020?  The good news is that with a modest investment of time and effort, you will be able to check this off your list in just a couple of weeks and you won’t even have to go to the gym to get it done!

Your Green 2020 – Growth versus saving for retirement

Very few people could “save” enough for retirement with today’s long life expectancies and earlier retirements. If you just “save” – yet do not have growth that exceeds both income taxes and inflation, you are more likely to run out of money.

One of the young men participating in her career readiness classes with Rockdale Juvenile Court was shot with two of his friends after the trio had attempted burglary at 4 a.m. in Rockdale county. Karen can’t help but wonder if there had been some type of recreational center or organization that was available would these young men still be alive?

The LEAADS Centers shines light for local youth

The LEAADS Centers, formerly (Law Enforcement Agencies Assisting in the Development of Students) has been providing mentorship, career readiness services for youth in alternative schools and court systems throughout Georgia since 2004. In all that time, the program has expanded —  LEAADS hosts one of the largest summer camps in the city limits — and its mission has morphed to meet the community’s growing needs.

Two eyes for an eye

The year was 1960. A large shopping center had just opened. There were no upper-levels for parking. My destination was a restaurant. I pulled into the parking lot. It was full. I drove down a few aisles and saw a couple entering their car. I whipped around two aisles. I was too late. Another car was in front of me.

Concentration: An Important Component of Study

Concentration is the ability for someone to control attention.  It is critical for optimum learning to take place!  There are many causes of poor concentration; such as distracting noises, boredom, daydreaming, hunger, worry, dislike of a subject, television, computer, technology, social media, feeling overwhelmed with an assignment, lack of commitment, constant interruptions, lack of sleep, fatigue, and poor diet.
