The ingredients are fresh and the smell of fresh roasted garlic, tomato, and basil will wet your appetite before you can order. We highly recommend trying their pasta dishes. The warmth of a fireplace draws diners to the outdoor patio at the newly opened Fratelli’s Pizza. New owner and experienced chef, Danny Gomez, is offering Snellville a tradition in taste with his family business. “It has always been my dream to open my own place,” says Chef Danny. “I wanted a place for my family to work together in a community that needed a great pizza place.” Daniel Jr. knows how important the success of this restaurant is to his dad. “It has always been his dream and I love working here with him,” says Daniel.
Chef Danny and his sister, Carla Bercian, run the kitchen and dining room as if it were a home. “We love it when our customers can relax and enjoy a meal with their families,” says Carla as she multitasks between tables. Carla’s daughter, Adrianah, says, “I love working here in the family business. I also love that my uncle used the Twin Tower’s in his sign… it is a reminder to us of what is important in life, and we are originally from New York..” Such wisdom from a young lady is evidence of the family’s ties to New York and the tastes that define the town.
One bite into a slice of pizza will make a believer out of you. Two diners from Dekalb County stopped in for a meal and could be overheard praising the Friday night Seafood Bisque special, the garlic and cheese knots and Fratelli’s signature pizza. “You can tell this guy knows his stuff,” said one diner named Matt. His friend, Jeff agreed, “I am stuffed, but it was awesome.”
As if an excellent and authentic NY Style pizza were not enough, Chef Danny has the market cornered on a cheesecake that meets all the best cheesecake criteria complete with passing the stand-up fork test. Creamy and delicious desserts are among the best reasons to just stop by for a treat with coffee or tea by the fire. “I want my guests to feel at home any time of day, for any kind of meal,” says Chef Danny.
Fratelli’s is not your average “pizza joint.” There are no shortcuts, just delicious food served up in the warmth of a real family.
Take the long way home by starting with a delicious appetizer like Wings, Fried Calamari, or the Brushetta; all Fratelli’s specialties. Coast on in with a classic Fratelli’s pie or if your palette is in the mood for something really special, the pasta and seafood dishes are all prepared with Chef Danny’s culinary magic and are sure to satisfy.
