2020 Property tax bills will be mailed by October 1 with changes

We have seen a lot of change this year, and Gwinnett's property taxes are no exception.

Tax Commissioner Richard Steele

Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner Richard Steele explains the details in a video at www.GwinnettTaxCommissioner.com/2020. Property tax bills will be mailed in batches beginning next week and are due Dec. 1. A number of changes are reflected on the 2020 property tax bills.

Taxpayers may view and/or pay their bills online as of Sept. 29 from any Internet-connected device at www.GwinnettTaxCommissioner.com/Pay. Property owners who signed up for paperless billing will receive their bills immediately upon release via secure email.

Ways to pay include:
• Paying online via e-check is simple, secure and incurs no added convenience fee.
• Paying via debit card incurs a flat $3.95 fee; credit cards and PayPal incur a 2.25 percent fee.
• Scheduling payments in advance, as long as the total is paid by the due date.
• Mailing checks to P.O. Box 372, Lawrenceville, Georgia, 30046.
• Dropping off checks 24/7 in drop boxes located at every tag office.
• Paying in person with cash, check, money order, debit card ($3.95 flat fee) or credit card (2.25 percent fee) during stated business hours at any Gwinnett Tax Commissioner’s Office. Check wait times in advance: www.GwinnettTaxCommissioner.com/wait.

Tax information is made available to mortgage companies; however, property owners with escrows are responsible to ensure taxes are paid by the due date.
