The parade will feature horses and knights from Medieval Times, group floats, three marching bands, mascots including Chopper and Maximus and Hairy Dawg, clowns, stilt walkers, politicians, cheerleaders from local high schools, beauty queens, free give-a-ways and more.
The Grand Marshal is Rennie Curran, a Brookwood High School alumnus and former football player for both the University of Georgia and the NFL’s Tennessee Titans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Curran is also the author of the book “Free Agent” and a public speaker.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Kmart on Wisteria Drive, travel to North Road. At the post office, the parade will turn up Oak Road until it reaches the Grand Stand at City Hall. Chick-Fil-A will be serving breakfast and clowns will be making free animals balloons for children before the parade.
