Memorial Service for Body Donors Planned at GA-PCOM

A memorial service will be held this Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m. in the atrium of the Georgia Campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (GA-PCOM) in honor of the individuals who donated their bodies to medical science at GA-PCOM this year.

DO Council members are pictured with Anatomical Coordinator Jeff Seiple including (L-R) Brent Giles, Tyler Mineo, Julia Fink, Michael Kingberg, Melissa Keslar, Seiple, Natasha Arora, William Grigg, and J Norris.

Family members and friends of the deceased are invited to a light breakfast followed by the service at 10 a.m. which is being planned by Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) Council members, a student leadership group from the osteopathic medical program at the college. The service will be presided over by J Norris, 2017 DO Class Chair. Thanks to the extraordinary gift of body donation, medical students at the college have the opportunity to study first-hand the intricacies of the human body and relationships between body systems. GA-PCOM recognizes that those who donate their remains to science make a tremendous contribution to the body of knowledge and depth of understanding surrounding medical education.

For more information about the body donation program, contact Anatomical Coordinator Jeff Seiple at 678-225-7477 or jeffreyse@pcom.edu
