Athletes and All-Stars

I am trying my best to understand the parameters of Gwinnett County Youth “All Stars”. From what I can tell, the athletes are really, really cute with above their age ability to look intense.

Seen here pitching is standout KJ Moon, 8 year old son of Mark and Cassy Moon. Cassy, a Central Gwinnett High School graduate, has been at Grayson High School for many years and is newly appointed Assistant Principal. Husband Mark teaches at Cooper Elementary but is also a Coach for GHS football and baseball director for Grayson Athletic Association.

North Forke Swim Team in Grayson is a good opportunity for Michael and Meg Dagenhart of Tripp Elementary to spend time with Cousin Jayson Barber. While Jennifer Barber stays involved with Grayson Elementary PTA, Dad, Mike Dagenhart (and Mom Carey) are involved Coaching GAA baseball . Karen Lerew, Bay Creek Middle School PTA President and husband Paul and sons Chase and Logan hosted an 80 th birthday celebration for her Dad. Ken Bennett, accompanied by his beautiful wife, traveled from Texas, as did son Michael and his family. Mr. Bennett is known in the family as an accomplished athlete in football, basketball, baseball and track, and a 1956 Graduate of Texas Tech.

We encourage Seniors to bring some defining props to Senior pictures Some people bring first place trophies or childhood dolls. When Aneta Wysocki of Central Gwinnett High School looked around for her “favorite” item to bring to Senior Portraits, she realized her favorite thing was her dog. This was a touching moment for our staff. ….Until a couple weeks later when Grayson High School Senior Daniel Mullennix walked in with a kitten. To see a handsome young man take such care of this little guy was a wondrous thing and Photographer Khris McKnight captured the bond. It was almost immediately when our sources revealed that it is not actually Daniel’s kitten. Felix Garfield Lynfalgistevensdorfsier is owned by Grayson High School soccer talents Ella Stevens and Jen Westendorf who entrusted his care to Daniel while they were in Seattle at the Girls National Soccer Tournament.

The fifth Anniversary of the Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Fame moved for the first time from Gwinnett Braves Stadium as a sidelight to a game and is now a seated dinner in the Gwinnett Civic Center Grand Ballroom. Two main speakers, each outstanding in his field, shared an informal moment. Shown are Dan Reeves, former head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons and Alvin Wilbanks, Superintendent of Gwinnett County Public Schools.

We are proud to be affiliated with Gwinnett Online Campus and watching them reach an ever widening audience now taking students from 4th grade through high school. The students share “anywhere and anytime” access to instruction but can take advantage of an impressive physical location when needed. Shown is Dr. Christopher Ray sitting amongst the 2014 Graduating class. Of special pride to us are the accomplishments of the Class President and Salutatorian (3rd from right) and part time Magic Moment staff member, Shona Jackson. GOC is one more way to experience the much lauded Gwinnett educational experience.
