Lilburn Farmers Market events for August

August brings many new experiences to the Lilburn Farmers Market located at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church (1400 Killian Hill Rd, Lilburn) from 4 to 8pm.

Farm fresh produce and fruits fill the market in addition to salsas, cheeses, pastas, baked goods, bath and body items and so much more. Food trucks, Mac the Cheese and Scratch Cuisine, and local BBQ with all the sides give attendees ready to eat options. Chef demos, live music and the Lilburn Woman’s Club’s Free Little Library are also at the market each week.

On August 1, Matthew Murphy of Three Blind Mice will be hosting a cooking demonstration to show us how to make Gazpacho and Salade Nicoise with Tuna at 4:30 PM. Boot Scootin’ Boobies will be there raising funds for the Atlanta 2 Day Walk for Breast Cancer. Crying Room Players, a local music group, will fill the market with music.

4th Annual Dog Days of Summer – bring your dog to the market is on August 8th. Atlanta Obedience Club will have a dog training display with a training Q&A session. Lilburn Woman’s Club Conservation will be giving out ‘doggie goodie bags’ to all 4 footed attendees. Chef Stacy Maple will be hosting a chef demo at 6 PM. Alex Porto, principal at St John Neuman Regional Catholic School, will be playing.

August 15 will find the Leukemia and Lymphona Society’s Team in Training at the market raising funds and awareness about this cause. Gwinnett Cooperative Extension’s master gardeners will be on hand to answer landscape and gardening questions. Chef Lynn Ware will show us how to make watermelon salsa at 6 PM. The Ukulele Society of Decatur will have us dancing in the streets.

On August 22, Clicks & Sticks Knitting Guild will be at the market with information about their organization that provides education and communication to knitters in our area. LifeSouth blood mobile will be accepting blood donations – do something awesome and save someone’s life by making a donation. Chef Carlin Breinig will be hosting a chef demo at 6 PM.

The final market of the 2014 season is on August 29th. Come by and pick up information about AARP Smart Driving classes. Enjoy Chef Stacy Maple’s chef demo at 6 PM. Make lots of purchases to hold you until the next market on
