The female students at Couch and Baycreek Middle Schools are all very successful but there are some that manage to excel in their sport and keep a high grade point average.
Jenna Grzech, student at Couch Middle, swims for Summit Chase CC year round swim team and has placed several times in many different meets around the county and in the state of Georgia. She practices 3+ hours a day. With all advance classes, Jenna makes sure her academics come first. She stays on A/B honor roll at school and plays in Couch Middle School’s band! I see a very successful young lady and a role model for others.
Abbie Ward, also a student at Couch Middle, has been a competition cheerleader since the 3rd grade. With an absolute love for the sport, this athlete practices 3-4 times a week for about 3 hours each practice. This cheerleader isn’t just sparkle and spirit; she is made of dedication, sweat, and tears. She attends Future Extreme gym where she competes on a Junior 3 level. She has always been on Honor roll at school and never misses a chance to work to her best ability. Abbie not only stays focused while tumbling, she makes sure her education comes first by studying each night. G-O A-B-B-I-E!!
Ashley Steele, a student at Baycreek Middle, plays Lacrosse for Laxsanity Snippers and many other teams as well. She plays mid field for most all her teams and does exceptionally well on the field. Ashley’s Grayson team was undefeated last year and they made it to the championship while only losing by 1 point! Practices, running, and sweat does not keep this all around athlete from exceeding in school. She is in gifted classes and she is on the Principal and A/B honor roll. An outstanding athlete with brains! Go #5!
These girls are all great role models. The expectations from their coaches and teachers aren’t even as high as the expectations that these young ladies have set for themselves, but they aren’t the only ones with the same motivation. There are many other smart and talented athletes in our Grayson Cluster.
As for me, I have been taking golf lessons since I was 5 years old at Summit Chase CC and I just recently joined the Gwinnett Middle School Golf League. Although I have kept Principal and A/B honor roll, the talent from all of these girls is exceptional. There is no doubt that you will see them on the cover of ESPN magazine! So instead of chanting “ Falcons, RISE UP!”, “Go Dawgs, Sick Em!”, or “Go Rams!” Be ready to yell for these three amazing ladies. Look out; the Class of 2020 is going to be big!
