The Georgia State Raider Championship is a competitive program that will consist of five athletic and curriculum skilled events. The five events for the State competition are as follows: Raider Fitness Test, One-Rope Bridge, Cross Country Rescue that includes a 15 questions first aid test, 5 km Team Run and a Tire Flip. “The JROTC program has only been a part of the school for three years and these ladies have already proven to be the best in their area by winning their regional championship,” said Coach Sergeant First Class (Retired) Christopher Diaz. “I am so proud of the commitment and dedication they have shown all year long and know that they will represent themselves well at the State Championship.”
This is the first year that the Lady Raiders have advanced to the State competition as regional champions. “I feel very excited about our chances this year,” said Cadet Team Leader Yessy Alfaro. “The ladies have trained very hard as a team and really want to win it all.” The Female Raiders competed in the Area 11 Regional Championship on October 18, 2014 at Dawson County High School. The team won awards in the following events:
•Overall Regional Champions
•1st Place, Cross Country Rescue
•1st Place, Obstacle Course
•1st Place, Team Run
•1st Place, Sand Bag Relay
•2nd Place, Tire Flip
