City looking for residents’ input on future

SNELLVILLE – A series of visioning meetings have been scheduled by the Urban Redevelopment Agency to gauge residents’ vision of the city’s Towne Center.

City officials are urging residents to attend these meeting and voice their opinions.

Dubbed the Snellville Visioning Sessions, the meetings will query residents on, among other things, the 2011 Towne Center Plan, the recently announced Wisteria Pop-up Marketplace and community unity concept “Generation Merge” which calls for generations across the age spectrum to work together to make Snellville a better place.

The meeting are scheduled as follows:
6 to 8 p.m., Feb. 19 at South Gwinnett High School, 2288 E. Main St.

6 to 8 p.m., March 12 at Brookwood HS, 1255 Dogwood Road

6 to 8 p.m., March 19 at the Briscoe Park offices, 2500 Sawyer Parkway in the Betty McMichael Room

City officials will be on hand to record residents’ comments and answer questions. Discussion topics will include the city’s housing options, retail development, transportation and business issues.

“The goal is to get from the community that attends, the things they see that are important about the future of Snellville and maybe a little bit about what that future would look like,” said Economic Development Manager Eric Van Otteren.
