Gwinnett Tech Hosting Information Sessions for New Accelerated Associate Degree in Business Management
Information Sessions to be Held April 2 and 14 at 6 p.m. at GTC

GWINNETT– NORTH FULTON – Gwinnett Technical College is holding information sessions for its new Professional Accelerated Business Management associate degree program on Tues., April 14, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Building 900, Room 2.111 on campus.

The session is open to all prospective students, and advance registration is not required. 

These information sessions will address the program’s admissions criteria, program curriculum and programs perks as well as allow prospective students to meet faculty members in GTC’s business division.

Gwinnett Tech is launching the state’s first accelerated associate degree program in business management this fall, enabling students with prior professional experience to earn their degree in just one year. The priority application deadline for Fall Semester is May 20 and classes begin Aug. 20. Visit www.GwinnettTech.edu/apply.

“The program mirrors all the best aspects of executive MBA programs, but we’re making that type of experience available at the associate degree level to prepare front line managers to advance in their career,” says Dr. Jermaine Whirl, dean of business and art and design, Gwinnett Tech.

The program targets entry-level managers who have been designated by their employers asprospective leaders within their organizations. The college is working withseveral companies who will cover tuition for their managers, but the program is also open to any individual who meets the admission requirements.

Program features include small cohort-based learning, guest speakers, company site visits and field trips, eight-week mini-mester class scheduling, and classes available on Friday evening, Saturday morning and online. In addition to anassociate degree in business management, graduates will also earn certificates in management and leadership and in human resource management. 

Gwinnett Tech’s business faculty includes instructors with 20+ years of experience in their fields with specialties in entrepreneurship, international business, finance, strategicplanning, economics, marketing and information systems.

Admissions requirements include three or more years in a professional leadership role plus the prior completion of certain general education courses. Applicants will also complete an interview process and provide two letters of recommendation. One must be from the applicant’s employer. Prospective students must also submit a resume and complete two essay questions.
