The new facility is designed to improve support services to students and is the first of many changes focused on improving student success at Gwinnett Tech.
State Senator Brandon Beach, Lawrenceville Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson, Gwinnett County Board of Educationmember Louise Radloff and other community leaders joined Gwinnett Tech President Dr. Glen Cannon, Gwinnett Tech Foundation Trustees and leaders of the Technical College System of Georgia for the event. 
The One-Stop Enrollment Center, a 21,000-square-foot facility located in Building 100, has been physically re-designed and renovated to locate all necessary student services – from enrollment to financial aid to advisement and registration – in one location.
The goal is to make the process of enrolling in and attending college – all those necessary actions that happen outside of the classroom – easier for students, so they can focus on their performance within the classroom.
“The One-Stop Enrollment Center has been designed from the student’s point of view to make the journey from interested prospect to enrolled student sitting in class as smooth and easy as possible,” said Dr. Cannon. “Our challenge is to meet students where they are and remove barriers so they can achieve their educational goals.”
The center is at the core of a new student-centered advising model at Gwinnett Tech that provides each student a small advising team – specific to their program of study – that is prepared to answer virtually all of a student’s needs and questions. Each advising team remains with the student for duration of his or her time at Gwinnett Tech.
“Today, we welcome you to a new way of serving students, one where our processes, our customer focus, and our facility supports students by removing barriers and building relationships,” said Dr. Julie Post, vice president of student affairs, Gwinnett Tech. 
“Our motto is ‘one or none.’ Our goal is to provide such efficient and effective service that a student seesonly one staff member, or needs to see no one because available technology provides answers and support,” added Dr. Post.
Gwinnett Tech is now accepting applications for both Summer Mini-Mester 2015 and Fall Semester 2015. For summer term, application files must be complete by April 29. Summer classes begin May 20. For fall semester, the financial aid priority application deadline is May 15 and thepriority application deadline is June 25. Fall semester classes start August 19. Visit www.GwinnettTech.edu/apply.
