Eastside Medical Center nationally recognized for patient safety

Snellville, Ga. – Eastside Medical Center has received an “A” grade for its commitment to patient safety, according to the spring 2015 Hospital Safety Score, which grades hospitals in the areas of preventable medical errors, injuries and infections.

“We have worked tirelessly to build a culture of safety in our hospital and our score is reflective of our commitment to providing safe care,” said Denise Flook, vice president of quality and patient safety at Eastside. “Patients have many choices when it comes to choosing a healthcare provider and we, as a healthcare organization, owe it to patients to have the most up-to-date, accurate safety information readily available so they can make an informed decision regarding their families’ healthcare needs.”

The Hospital Safety Score is the gold standard rating for patient safety, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, nonprofit hospital safety watchdog. Of the approximately 2,500 hospitals that met requirements to receive a grade, about 31 percent received an “A” Hospital Safety Score.
