A Backward Glance – A Forward Vision

A Backward Glance - A Forward Vision

The year was 1840, the setting was the shade of a large oak tree in Lilburn resident, William McDaniel’s yard.

None of them knew it at the time, but the gathering of five men and four women was about to embark on an adventure that would still today bear witness of their insight, passion for Christ, and vision for the future.  First Baptist Church of Lilburn, formerly Liberty Baptist Church, is the fulfillment of that vision and the evidence of the faithfulness of God to honor the obedience of His people.

Rapidly the small congregation grew into a full-fledged church and became a vital part of the Lilburn community. The past 175 years have seen Pastors and members come and go, programs and outreach be redefined, and “The Church That Loves” continue to minister to and assimilate with the community. In keeping with the changing demographics of Lilburn, the single culture congregation has grown to include eighteen language congregations from all over the world.

On Sunday, October 18, 2015, First Baptist Church of Lilburn will gather to celebrate 175 years of history and memories, as well as a continued vision for the future. Services will begin at 10:00am in the main sanctuary and, as is true every Sunday, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Come experience FBC Lilburn ~ ‘’The Church That Loves’ GOD AND HIS WORD, ‘The Church That Loves’ ONE ANOTHER, and ‘The Church That Loves’ THE NATIONS.”

A Bar-B-Q lunch will directly follow the worship service. Tickets are $10.00 for Adults and $5.00 for children.
