Creative writing class with author and journalist Carole Townsend

Creative writing class with author and journalist Carole Townsend

Have you thought about writing a book, but weren’t sure if you had the talent?

Are you a closet writer with a dream of writing that novel, but you’re just not sure how to pull it all together?

Let author and journalist Carole Townsend introduce you to the world of creative writing and publishing.

CCS is pleased to bring this exciting author to Snellville. She holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism, and has been a newspaper journalist for more than 12 years. A four-time published author, her newest book is slated for an April 2016 release.  BLOOD IN THE SOIL is adeparture from the Southern humor that has made Carole famous over the past few years. It is a true crime novel, partially set in Gwinnett County. Money, sex and racism drive this exciting true story from the first page to the last.

In this creative writing class, Carole will teach students how to develop characters and plot. Students will learn about and find their own unique voice, and will learn the importance of outlines, timelines, research and fact-checking. Ultimately, Carole will teach and “de-mystify” the business of publishing, even teaching students how to market their books once they are published.

Tuition:   $200/4 weeks beginning Wednesday, January 6th, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.  Class will be held at Cobble Creek Studios each Wednesday evening through January.
