Gwinnett has great kids

Gwinnett has great kids

We all know about those people who turn on the charm for an audience.  The counter to this is Coach Oji Perkins of Lanier High School, normally an unusually dynamic, enthusiastic and athletic person. All this charms turns to stone when Coach Perkins spots a camera.

The stern man in the center of the picture of Lanier High School Varsity Girls basketball team also coaches track and cross country on occasion. The adorable young boy with sunglasses in front of him is his 6 year old son Caden.

All of us at Magic Moment have known Coach Ryan Lesniak for a long time from his early coaching days at Grayson High School (freshman volleyball) through his current success as head Coach of Archer Varsity Girls baskeball.  Ryan who looks perpetually sunny has an artistic side and encourages photographer Meghan Schroder and designer Alex Beard to ever new heights of poster design.  Shown here is the official schedule poster of the 2015-2016 Lady Tigers.

The Lumpp family of Grayson was put here to make us all feel sedentary.  Parents Matt and Kasey were so busy with the numerous Lumpp family sport activities (swimming, tennis, soccer, basketball, jogging) for themselves and sons Brendon, 17, Blake 13 and Bryant 11, that it may have almost escaped their notice that all 3 boys “graduate” this year—Brendan from Grayson High School, Blake from Bay Creek Middle School and Bryant from Grayson Elementary School.

The Grayson Online Campus has had the standard May graduation but this December it held the first ever midyear Graduation.  Dr. Christopher Ray is the Principal of this ever growing and acclaimed segment of Gwinnett County Public Schools.  GOC serves over 500 full-time students enrolled full-time in grades 4 – 12.  One lovely tradition is that during the ceremony, each graduate presents flowers to the attending family members.  Shown delivering a rose is Graduate Luis Rivera Camargo.

Many parents treasure the Santa shot of their beaming toddler having a Holiday visit with Santa.  The three Cortellino sisters: Rachel Cortellino Scruggs  (Grayson HS 05, wife of Jake Scruggs  GHS, 02), Angela Cortellino  Glowcheski (South Gwinnett High School Class of 01′ married to Chris from South Dakota), Mary Cortellino Eich, Grayson HS Class of 03 married to Adam Eich, Brookwood High School graduate) had such hopes when posing their daughters: Peyton Scruggs, Addison  Eich and Emersyn Glowcheski. The final  product is a one of a kind cousin moment.

Oscar Williams, Grayson Athletic Association Coach of 2nd and third grade boys team is beginning the Youth Basketball season after which he faces spring as a Director of the widely praised GAA Baseball program.

I am grateful to Principal Nicole Tubbs for having Magic Moment become the photographers of Berkmar Middle School.  In this age of constant streaming of content, it is refreshing for me to photograph Middle School Club Day and come face to face with the Book Club — who in a classic move — read actual ink and paper books.
