Gwinnett Tech Brings American Made Movie Back By Popular Demand
Community Invited to Free Movie Showing Thursday, April 7

Lawrenceville — On Thursday, April 7, 2016 Gwinnett Tech is excited to bring back to the Gwinnett community a wonderfully made film about the positive impact of domestic manufacturing jobs on our national and local economies.

gwinn tech1900American Made Movie, directed and produced by Nathan McGill and Vincent Vittorio of Life is My Movie Entertainment, was originally released in 2013 and continues to circle the nation today via private screenings. American Made Movie has created a powerful dialogue around the nation about the importance of Americans banning together to fight for American jobs.

clydes190Clyde Strickland believes every American should hear this story

At it’s peak in 1979, manufacturing employed more than 19 million American workers. However, in that same year, the manufacturing sector began a decline that would last several decades. By 2009, manufacturing reached its lowest number since before World War II, at just 12 twelve million workers.

Recently, a focus on bringing American manufacturing back to the forefront of the US economy has engaged everyone from manufacturing employers and workers, to legislators, educational facilities and even consumers as being a part of the solution. By understanding where and how products are made in the United States, and supporting American manufacturers, individuals have contributed to a resurgence of American manufacturing. There is hope once again that America can return to the manufacturing greatness it once held.

Gwinnett Tech invites the community to come experience this powerful movie that reminds us all how important it is to support products ‘Made in America’. Whether we are entrepreneurs, students, stay-at-home moms or senior citizens, we all have the power to transform America’s future and be a part of the solution by thinking before buying and being intentional about simple purchasing choices we make every day.

American Made Movie is rated G and is acceptable for all audiences. The showing will be hosted in the Busbee Center’s Cisco Auditorium located on the main floor of Building 700 on Gwinnett Tech’s Lawrenceville Campus. Pizza and popcorn will be offered starting at 11:30 a.m. At noon local businessman and American Made champion Clyde Strickland will offer an inspiring kick-off message, followed by the movie showing at 12:10 p.m.  The movie duration is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
