Atlanta’s Swedish Men’s Choir present concert

The Atlanta Swedish men’s choir Vasa Drangar will present its 20th Anniversary Concert on May 22nd, at 5PM, at the Winter’s Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 5105 Winters Chapel Road, Atlanta, 30360.

Vasa Drangar draws on a rich and traditional music history of Sweden. They present and promote Swedish and Scandinavian culture in the Southeast of the United States. They cover a wide range of music and genres and sing not only Swedish but also in other languages such as English, Italian and Russian. 

The guest soloist, tenor Niklas Bjorling Rygert from the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, Sweden, is regularly working with renowned conductor Zubin Mehta and has been a guest solist at many European opera houses.

Accompanying musicians are an ensemble from the Atlanta Balalaika Society and pianist Gabe Granitz. At the concert we’ll hear beautiful Swedish folk songs as well as exciting Russian songs, songs from Pavarotti’s and Jussi Bjorling’s repertoire, English ballads and even a couple of famous ABBA favorites.
