Duluth’s 2018 Event Calendar Season

Duluth’s 2018 event calendar season has a little bit of something for everyone. From dancing characters, food trucks, and live music to rafting on the Chattahoochee River to camping underneath the stars at Rogers Bridge Park; residents can choose from an array of events that best suits them. “This year we tried to be more diverse with our events. Meaning we want to offer anything and everything you can imagine to our residents” said Event Coordinator Madison Chucci.

The City of Duluth draws crowds from all over the metro-Atlanta area

Duluth events kicked off in March with the return of the crawfish festival, Muddbuggs & Music. The popular tailgate game Peach State Cornhole League will consist of three 8-week leagues and will be a fun addition to Fridays N Duluth. Fridays N Duluth kicks off May 4th alongside Food Truck Friday from 6-9pm. Food Truck Fridays will end on September 21st. Residents can expect to hear live music on the Festival Center Stage and in Parsons Alley throughout this time and Flicks on the Bricks will present a free movie on the 1st of every month from June–September.

Signature events like the Duluth Fall Festival, Duluth Celebrates America, Howl on the Green, Deck the Hall, and Cookies & Cocoa with Santa will ALL be back for 2018. Events introduced in 2017 are also returning this year! The Duluth Spring Arts Festival, S’mores N Snores, and Tuesday Takeovers are coming back in 2018.

dulutheventsThe Duluth Arts Festival will once again kick off Duluth’s 8-day art week which features interactive activities such as tweet & go seek, dance, theatre, music, eat like a local and more. The Aurora Theatre presents “Hair Spray” on May 5th on Duluth Town Green and it will wrap up ART week.

New to the scene is a rafting event at Rogers Bridge Park on June 2nd. Whatever Your Floats Boat is a twofold event: residents can either tube down the Chattahoochee River or build a raft and race it down the river to win a prize. There will be live music, games and more for all to enjoy. This event is presented by 10 Dollar Tubing and the City of Duluth.

Also, new to the event calendar is the Duluth Beer Festival brought to you by the Good Word Brewing & Public House & the City of Duluth. The beer festival will take place on October 6th on Duluth Town Green. Enjoy the taste of different types of beers made across the state of Georgia.

Bands performing at Duluth’s award-winning Summer Stage Concerts Series are Who’s Bad (A Michael Jackson tribute band), A-Town-A-List, Georgia Satellites, and Rupert’s Orchestra.

The award-winning STEAM event will be back again this year on October 12th with all Duluth cluster schools participating in the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

Duluth had a successful event season in 2017 with over 160,000 attendees from all over Metro Atlanta. Our hope is to attract more to the area as progress continues in downtown Duluth. For more information, visit www.duluthga.net/events
