Gwinnett Resident Named to PRSA College of Fellows

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has announced the election of Jennifer Grizzle, APR, President of The PR Studio, Inc. into the organization's prestigious College of Fellows.

The College of Fellows is an honorary organization within PRSA comprised of more than 350 senior practitioners and educators, each of whom has left a significant footprint on the public relations profession. Additionally, in early November, PRSA Georgia inducted her into its Order of the Phoenix society and into the Georgia PR Hall of Fame.

Jennifer is one of 11 new Fellows who were welcomed officially at a special ceremony in late 2018.

Jennifer founded her company, The PR Studio, Inc. in 1996 and has created award-winning public relations campaigns for clients in a variety of industries. She is past president of PRSA Georgia and served as the Georgia chapter co-chair for the PRSA International Conference in 2015. She created the Chapter’s Independent Counselors Forum in 1998, the Chapter’s first Special Interest Group (SIG) that became a model for other groups. She was the first recipient of PRSA Georgia’s Luminary Star Award and was also named the Chapter’s Shining Star. Jennifer earned her accreditation in public relations (APR) in 2009.

In the community, Jennifer helped launch the successful Birdhouse Artfest to benefit Habitat for Humanity. She served on the board for the March of Dimes Achievement in Radio (A.I.R.) Awards, and has been a long-time lector ministry coordinator at her church. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and is a graduate of the Buckhead Business Association Leadership Development Class.

“The College of Fellows inductees exemplify excellence and leadership in our profession. They have each established a lasting legacy through their outstanding service as counselors, mentors and role models,” said PRSA 2018 National Chair Anthony D’Angelo, APR, Fellow PRSA. “I congratulate them and hope that their achievements will encourage all members of PRSA and PRSSA to ‘aspire higher’ in their own careers.”

Election to the College, which was created in 1989 as part of an initiative focused on the future of public relations, is considered the pinnacle of a professional’s career. Fellows are seen throughout PRSA and the profession serving in Chapter, District, Section and National leadership positions, mentoring students and professionals, and teaching and engaging in professional practice.

The Order of the Phoenix was established in 1986 by PRSA Georgia to recognize and honor distinguished public relations professionals for their career achievements, significant contributions in the field of public relations and for exemplary community service. Chapter members inducted into the Order of the Phoenix also enter the Georgia PRSA Hall of Fame, created in 1988 by the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia in cooperation with PRSA Georgia.

To qualify for admittance into the College of Fellows, the public relations practitioner or educator must have at least 20 years of experience, hold the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential and have demonstrated exceptional capability and accomplishment in the practice or teaching of public relations. Fewer than 2 percent of PRSA members are accepted into the College of Fellows.
