When Melvin and Melissa Music began their plumbing and electric business in 2005, they could not have known where it would lead.

As they prepare to celebrate their tenth year, the couple’s business has grown steadily which has led to the purchase of a new building in Snellville to house their 32 employees.

In addition to providing jobs, the pair have recently started “Allgood Cares”. The program is designed to allow the locally owned and operated company to give back to the community each month with a $1000.00 monthly charitable donation. “The contribution is based upon nominations from our customers and the community,” says Melissa.

Both Melvin and Melissa grew up in Jeff-Davis County, but went their separate ways after high school with Melvin joining The Marines and Melissa The Air Force. Eventually, the two would marry and wanted locate somewhere in Georgia to be close to family. They chose Gwinnett, got married and began their family. Melissa has just recently stepped back from the business to homeschool the couple’s four children, Audrey, Haley, Will, and Zach. “Melissa really enjoys it and is passionate about it,” says Melvin. “She still helps with special projects here at the office.”

At Allgood, providing excellent service includes hiring and training qualified and professional service providers in both plumbing and electrical fields. “We look for clean-cut young applicants who are interested in the trade,” says Melvin.  As a Master Plumber, Melvin has provided many apprenticeship opportunities for young plumbers who want to learn the trade and join a strong company. “We get many more applicants than we can take,” says Melvin. “This isn’t a job, it is a career with training.”
