Alyssa Beasley named Miss Georgia 2017 during the final night of competition at the 73rd annual Miss Georgia Pageant

The 73rd Annual Miss Georgia Pageant concluded tonight at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia.  Fifty-four women from across the state have been competing for academic scholarship and the title of Miss Georgia 2017.

Contestants have competed in preliminary competitions of Interview, Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit, Talent, Evening Wear, and On-Stage Question leading up to tonight’s final competition.

The night began with the naming of the top fifteen for Miss Georgia.  They were: 

Miss Hummingbird Festival — Austin Carruth
Miss Atlanta — Paula Smith
Miss Conyers Cherry Blossom — Brooke Doss
Miss Kennesaw — Shannon Murphy
Miss Southeast Georgia — Alyssa Beasley
Miss Harris County — Holly Haynes
Miss Historic Buford — Annie Jorgensen
Miss Fulton County — Alexa Gilomen
Miss Capital City — Jameson Kennerly
Miss Stone Mountain — Rosa Campos
Miss Fitzgerald — Kelly Donoghue
Miss International City — Sarah Deloach
Miss Rome — Sydney Hillman
Miss Cobb County — Chari Guzman
Miss University of Georgia — Hanna Holley

The top fifteen then competed in Swimsuit before the field was narrowed to the top ten semi-finalists.  The ten semi-finalists were: 

Miss Cobb County — Chari Guzman
Miss Fulton County — Alexa Gilomen
Miss Stone Mountain — Rosa Campos
Miss Southeast Georgia — Alyssa Beasley
Miss Fitzgerald — Kelly Donoghue
Miss Atlanta — Paula Smith
Miss International City — Sarah Deloach
Miss University of Georgia — Hanna Holley
Miss Conyers Cherry Blossom — Brooke Doss
Miss Harris County — Holly Haynes


These contestants competed in the Evening Wear and Talent competitions before announcing the top five finalists. Alyssa Beasley, Miss Southeast Georgia, was then selected as the 2017 Miss Georgia, receiving $17,500 in scholarship awards, and the opportunity to compete in the 2017 Miss America pageant starting on September 6 2017, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Also receiving scholarship awards were fourth runner-up, Miss International City — Sarah Deloach ($2500); third runner-up, Miss Cobb County — Chari Guzman ($3500); second runner-up, Miss Atlanta — Paula Smith ($5000); first runner-up, Miss Conyers Cherry Blossom — Brooke Doss ($7500). The remaining top ten semi-finalists received a $1500 scholarship and the remaining top fifteen received a $1000 scholarship.
