The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Cardel Crossfield. Ceremony readings were performed by Mickey Dutton, uncle of the bride and Angie Dutton, aunt of the bride. There was a buffet dinner and dancing at Vinewood Plantation after the wedding ceremony. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at Southern Ground Social Club in Senoia, Georgia.
The bride is the daughter of Melanie Dutton Weatherby and Kevin Weatherby of Maysville, GA and April Moss Thomas and Robert Thomas of Gainesville, GA. She is the granddaughter of Lamar and Evelyn Dutton of Maysville, GA and Robert Thomas and the late Fran Thomas of Pendergrass, GA. The groom is the son of Debbie Simmons of Alpharetta, GA and Chad and Beth Brown of Indianapolis, IN. He is the grandson of the late Jerry and Ruby Simmons and Ruth Brown and the late Mack Brown all of Winston-Salem, NC.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner strapless trumpet style gown. The gown featured a semi cathedral train with crystals and beading on the bodice and was complimented by a finger tip veil. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of peonies, garden roses and oakleaf hydrangeas.
Miss Katie Dutton of Lawrenceville, GA, cousin of the bride served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included Brittany Buck of Buford, Cretia Barrett of Atlanta, Katie Nabinger of Hoschton, Rebecca Johnson of Pasadena, CA and Laura Segre of Hillsborough, CA. The flower girls were Siena Segre, cousin of the bride of Hillsborough, CA and Audrey Brown, sister of the groom of Indianapolis, IN. The Maid of Honor and bridesmaids wore tea length gowns in Waterfall in chiffon fabric. Each carried a hand-tied bouquet of flowers matching the bride’s.
Mr. Garrison Brown, brother of the groom, of LaGrange, GA served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Phillip Buck of Buford, Brent Hendrick of Suwanee, Jordan Thomas of Lake Providence, LA, Justin Thomas of Maysville, GA and Blake Young of Mantua, NJ.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of East Jackson Comprehensive High School in Commerce, GA and now works at Smiles Forever Orthodontics in Dacula. The groom is a 2005 graduate of The Cottage School in Roswell and a 2009 graduate of Gwinnett Technical College. He is employed by Bridgestone in Johns Creek.
Following a honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico, Kelsey and Justin will reside in Buford, Georgia.
