Back to School 2015:
New schools plan events to give students and staff a sneak peak

As students head back to school in Gwinnett County on Monday, August 10, many of them will be learning their way around new buildings.

GCPS opens four new schools this fall—Discovery High school, Jordan Middle School, and Baggett and Graves elementary schools. To help students navigate their new facilities, school leaders have planned events to provide students and staff the opportunity to roam their new homes. Students, parents, and community members are invited to visit the schools and tour the facilities on the following dates:

Discovery High School Sunday, July 26 2-4 p.m.

Baggett Elementary SchoolSunday, July 26 1-3 p.m.

Jordan Middle School Sunday, Aug. 2 2 p.m.

Graves Elementary SchoolSunday, Aug.  25-7 p.m.

In addition to these events, students and parents will learn more about their new schools during open house/registration events that will be held the week of August 3. Discovery High School students may pick up their schedules on Wednesday, August 5. Registration/meet your teacher events are scheduled at the other three new schools for Thursday, August 6. Check the school websites for times and additional information.

For more on registration/open house events at the new schools or at existing schools, visit www.gwinnett.k12.ga.us or your local school website.
