Book signing with Aspirations of the Heart author, Katie Hart Smith

They say if you want to get something done right, give it to the person with the largest work load! That person is Katie Hart Smith.

Her effervescent personality and her willingness to help others is unstoppable. She gets more done in a 24-hour period than most of us do in a week! How she finds the time to write is quite the mystery!

Although by profession, she is a nurse at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Katie has been a writer all her life. She has been a published author for over 20 years covering a wide range of topics including medical and academic, historical fiction, non-fiction, and children’s stories. Her stories are inspiring and entertaining, and poignant and touching.

Aspirations of the HeartTo see a sample of what she does, you can check out “From the Heart,” her monthly column for the Gwinnett Citizen newspaper. In addition, she is co-author of Duluth: Home of the Dream Keepers, a commemorative book about the new 9/11 memorial and monument unveiled in late April, 2017 at the Duluth Town Green. She is a sought-after speaker and is the first recipient of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Professional of the Year award.

Katie and her husband, Jeff, are involved in many charitable organizations both on a local and national basis. She approaches everything she does with energy and enthusiasm. Her attention to detail is beautifully displayed in her latest novel, Aspirations of the Heart.

Although born in San Diego, CA, Katie has been in metro Atlanta since 1976. She and Jeff are active members of their Gwinnett community where Katie was a member of the Lawrenceville City Council from 2009-2011.

On June 10, from 11:00 – 2:00, Katie will be signing her book and sharing her writing journey at the Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts in Monroe, GA – 205 S. Broad Street.
