Womack proved her skills and abilities her freshman year when she not only became a member of the Brookwood High School Varsity tennis team, but she has remained a starting player all three years.
Womack was recently recognized by the Georgia chapter of the United States Tennis Association (U.S.T.A.) for her athletic abilities as a junior Spotlight Player of the Month. According to Coach Trandafir, Kendra is a great strategist with an incredible work ethic. Kendra says while she has had many coaches, Coach Trandafir is the one coach who knows her goals as a tennis player and gives her the tools to achieve them.
Additionally, Kendra was also recognized as one of Gwinnett County’s Super Six 2018 tennis players. She says what drives her is her love of the sport and her desire to be better.

“Kendra has such a good heart, and she does everything from the heart,” said her mother, Diane Womack. “I believe it is because she loves, loves, loves that it drives her accomplishments. She never wants to disappoint anyone or say no, and although that is good, it does have its pros and cons,” she adds.
According to Trandafir, Kendra can easily receive a scholarship to a D1 or D2 college because her future is bright in whatever she decides. This prediction suits Kendra just fine because as it happens, she would like to play tennis for her college team.
Perhaps she inherited at least some her athletic ability from her parents. Her father, Ken ran track and played basketball in college. Diane ran track in high school but played other sports as an adult including tennis, racket ball, cycling and volleyball as hobbies to exercise. They both frequently travel with Kendra when she participates in her annual tournaments; she has been playing in tournaments for seven years now.
“I’ve won most of my matches. I never really focus so much on winning as I do on just taking the match one point at a time. For me, as soon as I think about winning or losing, I lose focus and tend not to play as well,” said Womack.
It should come as no surprise that her favorite tennis player is the incredible Serena Williams; they are both accomplished athletes.
The one thing Womack says she would like to change about the game is the sportsmanship and integrity in junior tennis. She adds bad calls made by players ruins the spirit and joy of the sport for players and spectators.
“There’s nothing I’d rather do than play tennis, said Womack.
