Happy New Year and I want to welcome you to the year 2015.  It is customary for many people to start a New Year with a New Year’s resolutions, for a positive change in their lives.  Some people want to lose weight, others stop smoking, and some want to pay off bills or save more money as part of their New Year’s Resolution.

Oh December with your holiday parties, shopping, gift giving and places to be for this month in Gwinnett County!  This is one of the busiest times and probably one of the most fun times of the year.  Of course by now you should have gotten that live Christmas tree and if you haven’t I am sure Randy’s Nursery on highway 29 still has a few left for you.  I am told David at Randy’s Nursery has “the sturdy kind that doesn’t mind the snow.”

Do you have your 2015 Business Plan in place?

Do you have your 2015 Business Plan in place?
By Rodney Camren

October is usually the month that business coaches and owners start planning the year ahead.  In this case as we are officially in the last quarter of 2014, whatever we do as small business owners for the next three months will show up at the beginning of the year 2015.  However what we usually see is that most small business owners barely show up for the day let alone for the year and don’t ask them if they have a 5 year business plan as you will get a blank stare and dead silence.

New Lawrenceville has been “Bringing Community Together” for 9 years now.  We do this through 12 business networking opportunities, an additional 6 co-hosted networking meetings, a festival, the trolley tours, our summer speaker series, a 2-page spread in the Gwinnett Citizen and now our 1st Annual Golf Tournament.

Are you a business owner experiencing a “slow” period? Maybe your business began with a bang and suddenly your profits have stagnated. Or are you an established entrepreneur looking to expand your business, but the stretch business that you anticipated just hasn’t materialized?

Welcome to the world of being a SMALL Business Owner

Branding, marketing, networking, finances and growth

“Take this job and shove it, I ain’t workin here no more.” We all remember Johnny Paycheck’s #1 hit in 1977 and if you were like me you sang it loud and proud. For whatever reasons there are some of us who just find it difficult to work for large companies or for anyone else other than ourselves. Not to say there is anything wrong with being a 9 to 5 employee as that is a life some want as well. However, those of us who own small businesses know it is not a 9 to 5 job, it’s a passion.

Women vs Men

Why women are weaker and “NOT” equal

Thirty years after women became 50 percent of the college graduates in the United States, men still hold the vast majority of leadership positions in government and industry.

The New Lawrenceville Spring Green Festival raised $10,000, which was donated to Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation toward the purchase of a dedicated NICU Ambulance on April 8, 2014.

New Lawrenceville Power of local community

Never underestimate the power of a local community – and the small American Business owner

“It was President Harry Truman who said if you don’t know where you have been, then you don’t know where you are going”. Mary Frazier Long has many quotes on the New Lawrenceville Trolley Tours and many stories about the City of Lawrenceville’s past. Our community trolley tours started six years ago. In our groups efforts of “Bringing Community Together” we wanted to do more than just be a networking group.
