Snow times to remember!

Snow times to remember!
By Mandy Snell Harris

As I am writing this, the snow is really coming down outside, it is beautiful!

Unfortunately it caused a lot of heartache for many. But for those of us who didn’t have to go anywhere, it was nice and for me brought back many memories.

How did we ever make it growing up without cell phones and computers ? Answer… Just fine.

The 70’s were great!

Reflecting on family and home – 70’s in Snellville
By Mandy Snell Harris

Before I get started on the ‘rest’ of the 70’s, I would like to apologize to my cousins Burton Slade and Curtis Jones for not listing them in 1970 graduates. My oversight 🙂

The 70’s were a special decade, especially for those of us who were born in the 60’s. (just my personal opinion, haha). However….. WOW!!

Reflecting on family and home – 70’s

I recently went to the Snell family reunion. I always look forward to our reunion, to see who has gotten older (ha, like myself), who has gotten married and of course who has had a baby or babies!  I love all of my family and I’m very proud to be a part of it.

Love, kiss and hug

For all of you that read my articles every month, first I would like to say, “thank you”.  It warms my heart to know you are reading what I have written.  Secondly, please continue to do so. LOL.  I want to apologize for the interruption of my consecutive years about Snellville.  However, I feel I need to write what or how I am feeling at this time.

Looking back… 1930’s Snellville

I have been excited and nervous about this month’s article. Excited: because I was/am very anxious to learn more about ‘Our Town’, Snellville. Nervous: because I don’t want (or didn’t want) to get the dates wrong! I could only imagine the phone calls or FB messages I would get, correcting me. LOL So I decided I would get the decade(s) right and maybe even a year or two.

Feeling Nostalgic

I have been feeling very nostalgic for the past few weeks. It started when I heard the disheartening news of our beloved friend Jamie Britt. When I learned that Hospice would be at his home…. and then he lost his battle with that awful disease, cancer. It just put things into perspective. During this time I was very thankful for the social forum Facebook, SO many of us kept in contact with each other getting updates on Jamie (Britt).
