Saving for the future

My job is my first job and I use my paychecks wisely. Being young, I try to save as much as I can. With college starting, having a car and whole life ahead, it’s a good thing to save a little money.

It’s time. It’s time to go back to work, to school, to the usual morning traffic and live on without the Christmas music. All of the family members have gone home and Santa is back in the North Pole.

Perfecting ending

I drove through of what seemed to be a curtain of constant rain and tried to make it home. My windshield wipers were on full speed, but I still couldn’t see clearly. The brake lights in front of me were the only source of light that directed me down the street.

Short Story: A trip to an antique store

I passed an antique shop as the sun calmed half way in the sky. I recognized the sign as if it were in one of my forgotten dreams. When I pressed open the door, the air inside gave me goose bumps. No one, not even a cashier, was to be seen.

Cell phones are taking a toll on our self-confidence

It’s a nice Saturday afternoon and you think about heading towards the Mall of Georgia. You go to your room, pick out the nicest outfit next to your church outfit and put on the expensive makeup (for guys you put on your latest hat).

July in Gwinnett

July means the middle of the summer and the promise of Georgia heat. In Gwinnett, everyone knows that the weather in July becomes morbid to deal with.

Final bell has rung

On May 21, 2015, the final bell rang at Archer High School and its 2,437 students rose with hopes for the start of the summer. Their year of studying, stressing over tests and quizzes, waking up at o’ dark thirty and shuffling their feet from class to class has finally come to an end.
